JOIN WASPA:
WASPA is the only organization that specifically targets and represents school personnel professionals in
Wisconsin. If you are a personnel/human resource administrator, personnel support staff, superintendent,
principal or graduate student interested in this field, you will benefit from WASPA membership. The
association provides resources, professional development activities and networking opportunities to help you do
your job efficiently and effectively.

A Message from the President:
On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Association of School Personnel Administrators, I welcome you to our website. WASPA is an organization whose mission is to provide support to frontline human resource practioners and college placement offices in their efforts to attract, develop and retain only the most highly qualified employees. This critical support has many facets: professional development, networking, collaboration with other professional associations, and capacity building of HR secretarial support personnel.
Chief among our success are the very people who comprise our organization. Whether you are a superintendent, human resources director, business manager, college placement official or secretary, WASPA provides enriching “just in time” professional development opportunities. I hope you will consider attending one of our conferences during the 2012-2013 academic year. I would be remiss if I did not mention WASPA’s sponsorship of the Wisconsin Career Access Network (WECAN). Your organization’s nominal annual membership to WASPA provides you “virtual” access to thousands of applicants seeking professional experiences in your very own district. These candidates’ credentials are available to you at a click of a computer mouse; moreover, this online application process moves you one step closer towards a paperless hiring process. Let’s face it: the landscape of public education has significantly changed in the past two years. The impact on human resources related functions are even more pronounced (e.g. the end of collective bargaining, conversion to Employee Handbooks, Teacher Effectiveness model, Educator Online Licensing, etc.) Now more than ever an organization like WASPA is essential when navigating through this unchartered territory.
